Peters asked a worker why the businesses were not hiring British or local people. The worker replied, "We do have local people as well." Peters responded, "As well... but you've also hired foreigners to work at a chicken shop on skilled worker visas. People might be wondering, is it skilled work, working in a chicken shop?"
The worker answered, "Local people don't want to work in chicken shops, I think that's why." She added that they are "happy" that people with the visas are allowed to work in such places.
