Ilhan Omar Hits Back at Fox Host's 'Racist Fool' Tirade

Tucker Carlson, a Fox News presenter known for his controversial views, launched a racially charged attack on Democratic congresswoman Ilhan Omar during his Tuesday night show. The three-minute monologue was filled with anti-immigrant rhetoric and personal insults, describing Omar as 'living proof that the way we practice immigration has become dangerous to this country' and a 'living fire alarm'.

Carlson, a supporter of Donald Trump, accused Omar of having 'undisguised contempt for the United States and for its people'. He questioned her gratitude, stating that after everything America has done for her and her family, 'she hates this country more than ever'.

Omar, who fled civil war in Somalia in 1991 and spent four years in a refugee camp in Kenya before arriving in the US as a child, responded on Twitter. She wrote: 'Not gonna lie, it’s kinda fun watching a racist fool like this weeping about my presence in Congress. No lies will stamp out my love for this country or my resolve to make our union more perfect. They will just have to get used to calling me congresswoman!'

The Minnesota congresswoman, who made history as the first Somali American and one of the first Muslim women elected to Congress, has faced repeated attacks since taking office, including from President Trump. Carlson has a history of making offensive remarks, including describing Iraqi people as 'semiliterate primitive monkeys' and claiming white men are responsible for 'creating civilisation'.
