The victims, identified as 22-year-old Kaitlyn Hunt and 21-year-old Haley Pitts, were on their way home from a birthday celebration when the collision occurred. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the driver of the other vehicle, 30-year-old Michael Morrison, was intoxicated and driving in the wrong direction on Interstate 75.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, but despite their efforts, both women succumbed to their injuries. Morrison, who survived the crash, now faces multiple charges, including DUI manslaughter.
