Sky News apology after Trump expletive read on air

Sky News US correspondent Mark Stone apologised after reading out a Donald Trump social media post containing an expletive live on air during coverage of the US midterm elections. Stone, positioned outside the White House as results were set to be declared, read aloud a rant posted on Truth Social by Trump roughly two hours earlier.

President's Post Read in Full

The post, aimed at Fox News, read: "The FoxNews Poll, always the worst, is so insulting with the questions they ask. Every question is a hit job, and every answer is "BULL****!" This has been going on for years. President DONALD J. TRUMP." Stone was compelled to apologise after inadvertently reading out the full expletive.

Earlier Attack on Fox News Analyst

Earlier in the evening, Trump took to Truth Social to reveal he was watching pre-election coverage on Fox News. Instead of a final rallying call, he targeted Jessica Tarlov, a Democratic political strategist who regularly appears on the channel, labelling her a "LOSER" and declaring he would have to "go somewhere else" until she is "off the air".

Private Concerns Despite Public Confidence

While Trump publicly expressed confidence about the midterm results, American news sources quoted insiders from his circle as saying he has "privately conceded" that his party could be confronting the "worst case scenario". The President spent the day backing numerous Republican candidates through Truth Social posts and sharing links guiding voters to polling information.

Democrats need to flip four seats in the Senate and three seats in the House to gain control of both chambers from Republicans. Key Senate battlegrounds are in Alaska, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Ohio and Texas.
