Broader Senedd Election Results

Plaid Cymru secured 27,407 votes in Pen-y-Bont Morgannwg, with Reform UK coming second with 24,602 votes. Welsh Labour is now expected to retain only around 10 seats in the Senedd, as Reform, Plaid Cymru, and the Green Party make substantial gains. The results represent a major blow to Labour, which has dominated Welsh politics for decades.

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage hailed the night as "historic" for the party, as local election results delivered a severe blow to Labour. Despite the losses, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has vowed not to quit, insisting that Labour will fight back.
