Comedian Josh Widdicombe, widely tipped to become one of the new presenters for the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, has described his 2024 appearance on the show's Christmas special as the “worst day” of his career. This comes despite receiving a score of 10 from judge Anton Du Beke.
Widdicombe's Unforgettable Experience
Widdicombe participated in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special at the request of his daughter. Partnered with professional dancer Karen Hauer, he humorously referred to himself as the “s*** middle-aged bloke” on the show. Reflecting on the experience, he stated that it was the most challenging day of his professional life.
New Hosts for Strictly Come Dancing
Following the departures of long-standing hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly, reports suggest that Widdicombe could be joined by former Big Brother presenter Emma Willis and Strictly professional dancer Johannes Radebe as new hosts. Several other celebrities, including Zoe Ball, Rylan Clark, Fleur East, and Angela Scanlon, have either ruled themselves out or seemingly missed out on the coveted presenting roles.
Widdicombe's candid remarks about his Strictly experience have not dampened speculation about his potential new role. The BBC has yet to officially confirm the new lineup for the popular dance competition.
