The Royal Foundation of the Prince and Princess of Wales has overtaken the annual revenues of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Archewell Philanthropies, according to recent figures.
US revenue boost
The charity reportedly pulled in £8.7 million from its American office in 2025, representing 44% of its overall £19.6 million income for the year. This suggests Prince William and Princess Catherine are very popular in the US, where Harry and Meghan reside with their two children.
Archewell's decline
In contrast, Harry and Meghan's charity recorded just £1.93 million in revenue in 2024, a decline from the £4.23 million raised the previous year. Archewell Philanthropies is now reportedly undergoing a "reset" following staff redundancies made in December.
Royal Foundation initiatives
Through The Royal Foundation, William and Catherine run various initiatives, both jointly and separately. These include Catherine's Early Years programme for young children, William's Homewards project aimed at ending rough sleeping, and United for Wildlife, a venture launched last year to combat illegal animal trafficking.
Earthshot Prize separate
The Royal Foundation has operated entirely independently from the Earthshot Prize since 2022. The Earthshot Prize, established "to find, support and celebrate those who turn bold ideas into real solutions to repair our planet," reported a total income of £23.5 million for 2024, showing a 68% surge in donations from £12.8 million to £21.4 million.
Archewell rebrand
Harry and Meghan launched Archewell in 2020. Archewell Philanthropies was rebranded from its previous name, the Archewell Foundation, in late 2025. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who have been feuding with the royals for years, visited the UK last month.
