A judge has criticised Surrey police for spending £15,990 on a private jet to extradite TikTok influencer Harrison Sullivan, known as HSTikkyTokky, back to the UK, calling the expense “not necessary or proportionate”. Sullivan, 24, had evaded police for almost 12 months after a car crash in Virginia Water, Surrey, in March 2024, before being detained in Spain last August.
District judge Julie Cooper, sitting at Staines Magistrates Court, reduced the police’s cost application by £10,000, ordering Sullivan to pay £8,050.27 to Surrey police and £9,270 to the Crown Prosecution Service. The total costs originally sought were £28,350.27, but Cooper deemed the charter flight unjustified without a satisfactory explanation.
Surrey police defended the decision, stating it was based on a risk assessment by the National Crime Agency’s extradition unit, as other options were not viable. They argued Sullivan’s return was “imperative for the safety of Surrey’s roads” due to his dangerous driving, which included speeding at 70mph in a 40mph zone.
Sullivan pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and driving without insurance, receiving a one-year suspended sentence, a two-year driving ban, an electronic tag for three months, 300 hours of unpaid work, and 30 days of rehabilitation. His defence solicitor noted Sullivan was “surprised by the private jet” and had been calm and compliant in custody, adding that his daily livestreams made him easy to locate.
The influencer is reportedly set to appear in a Louis Theroux documentary for Netflix on online misogyny. In a viral clip, Theroux recited Sullivan’s past remarks calling himself racist, misogynistic, homophobic, and a scammer, to which Sullivan replied, “I don’t care.”
