Sir Tom Jones, 80, has said his late wife Linda would 'definitely' approve of his new London apartment overlooking the River Thames. Linda died in 2016 after a short battle with lung cancer. Her final wish was for him to return to the UK to be close to family and friends.
The singer, who was married to his childhood sweetheart for 59 years, moved back to London after 20 years in Los Angeles. He told Jo Wiley on BBC Radio 2 that Linda always loved having a view, something they grew up with in South Wales. 'I got this apartment overlooking the Thames and it's fantastic,' he said.
Sir Tom admitted he initially struggled after Linda's death, turning to therapy and music for comfort. He revealed they had planned to move back to Britain before her diagnosis. 'Linda wanted to come back to Britain, she was always homesick,' he said in a 2018 interview. 'She told me to get a flat in London the last week she was alive.'
The Voice judge sold his five-bedroom LA home for £6.5 million, complete with pool and garden. He said selling the fully furnished house was a relief, as Linda had decorated it herself and he could not bear to stay.
