The Voice UK finalists have come together to record a charity single in support of NHS workers during the coronavirus pandemic. The cover of Stevie Wonder's 'As' was recorded remotely via Zoom, with each finalist contributing their part from home.
Brooke Scullion, one of the finalists, told MailOnline that the group wanted to show appreciation for the National Health Service. The video features performances from all finalists, including band Belle Noir, who organised the project. Fans are encouraged to donate via a Just Giving page.
The live semi-final and final of The Voice UK were postponed by ITV just days before the UK lockdown in March. An ITV spokesperson confirmed the delay, citing the need to comply with public health guidance. A new date for the shows has not yet been announced.
Brooke Scullion said she remains in contact with production, who aim to hold the semi-final in summer, though she acknowledged it could be later. The single release serves as a positive outlet for the contestants while they await the resumption of the competition.
