The Trump administration has released a new counter-terrorism strategy that labels Europe an 'incubator' for terrorism, blaming mass migration for the threat. The 16-page report, led by counter-terrorism coordinator Sebastian Gorka, also targets drug cartels in the Americas and 'violent left-wing extremists,' including groups described as 'radically pro-transgender.'
The strategy warns that 'well-organised hostile groups exploit open borders and related globalist ideals,' claiming that 'the more these alien cultures grow, and the longer current European policies persist, the more terrorism is guaranteed.' It urges Europe to 'act now and halt its willful decline' as 'the birthplace of Western culture and values.'
While acknowledging European nations as 'preeminent and long-term counterterrorism partners,' the report states that 'Europe is greatly threatened and is both a terror target and an incubator of terror threats.' This follows Trump's earlier national security strategy, which warned of Europe's 'civilizational erasure' due to immigration.
The strategy also prioritises combating 'violent Left-Wing Extremists, including Anarchists and Anti-Fascists,' and calls for the 'rapid identification and neutralization of violent secular political groups whose ideology is anti-American, radically pro-transgender, and anarchist.' This aligns with Trump's recent executive order recognising only two genders.
Gorka said administration officials would meet allies later this week to discuss bolstering counter-terrorism efforts, adding that the US expects 'more' from its partners. The strategy further intensifies Trump's campaign against drug cartels in the Americas, including military strikes on alleged drug-trafficking vessels that have killed at least 191 people since early September.
