Paris Fury has hit back at critics of her daughter Venezuela's engagement, which was shown on the latest series of their reality show, At Home with the Furys. Venezuela, 16, is engaged to aspiring boxer Noah Price, who asked Tyson Fury for her hand in marriage on the programme.
Speaking to Metro, Paris, 36, compared the engagement to her own, saying: 'Venezuela was 16 when she got engaged, I was 17 when I got engaged. Me and Tyson have been together for 20 years, and we couldn't be any happier.' She dismissed negative comments, adding: 'If she's happy, he's happy, we're happy, I don't understand it at all.'
Within the traveller community, marrying young is a tradition. Venezuela herself said: 'They're trying to put negativity around it, but there really isn't any there.' Paris noted she has given her daughter advice about relationships, warning that 'nothing is really smooth sailing'.
The new series also features the couple's vow renewal in the South of France and candid arguments about Tyson's return to boxing. Paris said Venezuela helps with the younger children: Prince John James, 13, Prince Tyson II, eight, Valencia Amber, six, Prince Adonis Amaziah, five, Athena Amour, four, and Prince Rico Paris, two.
