King Charles surprised guests at a Buckingham Palace reception by fist bumping former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Tyler West and kissing Spice Girl Geri Horner. The monarch hosted the Prince's Trust event on Wednesday, where he greeted attendees with informal gestures, including a fist bump with the DJ and a hug and kiss on the cheek from Horner.
Horner, who planted a kiss on Charles's cheek and whispered in his ear, later told reporters, 'I just think he's a modern king.' She added, 'Everyone's doing the best they can, no matter what position you are in we all need support and encouragement.' The King also participated in a magic trick performed by magician Dynamo, whose career was boosted by a Prince's Trust grant.
The reception celebrated Prince's Trust award winners and was attended by celebrities including Hollywood star Stanley Tucci, British actor Stephen Graham, British Vogue editor Edward Enninful, musician Nile Rodgers, and hosts Ant and Dec. This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby also attended solo amid reports of a rift with co-host Phillip Schofield.
Earlier in the day, the King and Queen Camilla visited Covent Garden to mark the 390th anniversary of St Paul's Church, meeting performers, traders, and schoolchildren. This was their first joint engagement since the coronation.
