Donald Trump displayed two key 'indicators of tension' during his White House meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky, according to a body language expert. The pair met in Washington DC alongside Sir Keir Starmer and other European leaders to discuss a potential peace deal between Russia and Ukraine, following Trump's earlier meeting with Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
Inbaal Honigman, a celebrity psychic and body language expert, told the Express that as Trump waited for Zelensky to step out of his vehicle, he was seen with his lips pursed and chin puckered. 'Both indicators of tension,' she said. 'He's not looking forward to the meeting.' However, Trump acknowledged Zelensky immediately upon the car door opening, making eye contact and starting to speak before shaking hands.
Once the formal greeting took place at the doors of the West Wing, the atmosphere warmed. Honigman noted that Trump became calmer and more keen to proceed, with his head tilting to the side, which 'signifies that he's happy to listen.' She added that Zelensky's left hand covering Trump's hand 'may suggest gratitude' for the American president's efforts.
Later in the Oval Office, Trump suggested the meeting could result in a trilateral dialogue to help end the fighting in Ukraine. Zelensky presented Trump with a letter from his wife, thanking Melania Trump for her recent plea to Vladimir Putin to protect the innocence of children.
Asked about conflicting quotes on ending the war, Trump said: 'I think that's true. We're going to have a meeting. I think if everything works out well today, we'll have a trilat, and I think there will be a reasonable chance of ending the war when we do that.'
