The Pentagon wrote on X that while past administrations sought to discredit or dissuade the public, President Trump 'is focused on providing maximum transparency to the public, who can ultimately make up their own minds about the information contained in these files.' The initial release includes 162 files, such as old State Department cables, FBI documents, and transcripts from NASA crewed space flights. Additional documents are expected to be released on a rolling basis.

An Apollo 17 mission transcript details astronauts discussing mysterious objects drifting near the spacecraft during flight. 'Now we've got a few very bright particles or fragments or something that go drifting by as we maneuver,' one operator told mission control. Another replied: 'There's a whole bunch of big ones on my window down there - just bright. It looks like the Fourth of July out of Ron's window.'

According to the report, several witnesses described seeing 'orbs launching other orbs' in the distance, along with a large glowing sphere hovering in place and a semi-transparent object compared to a 'translucent kite.' An FBI Lab rendered a graphic overlay depicting the witnesses' descriptions of an apparent 'ellipsoid bronze metallic object materializing out of a bright light in the sky, 130-195 feet in length, and disappearing instantaneously.'

Gemini VII astronaut Frank Borman reported seeing an unidentified object while in space in 1965. 'We have very, very many a - it looks like hundreds of little particles going by to the left out about three or four miles,' Borman told mission control.
