Speaking at the G7 summit, US President Donald Trump declared that the Strait of Hormuz will be open by Friday and that the full text of the peace deal will be released in a 'formal setting'.
Key Announcements
Trump also stated that he expects the 'second stage' of the deal 'to go quickly'. He emphasized that the main outcome of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is that Iran will 'never have a nuclear weapon'. The president indicated he would review the deal with the media 'in a couple of days'.
Relations with Israel
Earlier, Trump told reporters he has a 'great relationship' with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu but said Netanyahu 'has to be more responsible with respect to Lebanon'. Trump added, 'Without me there would be no Israel, because no other president was willing to do what I did.'
These comments come amid ongoing tensions in the region and international efforts to stabilize the situation.
