Trump meets Zelensky and Netanyahu at White House amid soaring tensions
Trump hosts Zelensky and Netanyahu at White House

Donald Trump will hold separate meetings with Volodymyr Zelensky and Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House today as war tensions across the world soar. Later, Israel's Prime Minister and the Ukrainian President will attend the funeral of Lindsey Graham, the former Republican senator from South Carolina, who died unexpectedly on July 11 aged 71. Graham was a close ally of both leaders.

Netanyahu's aims and tribute

The meeting between Trump and Netanyahu will be their first since February, when they presented a united front before the strikes on Iran that began on February 28. During today's meeting, Netanyahu aims to discuss Israel's security and strength with Trump, he wrote in an X post on Monday. "Our goal is clear: to safeguard Israel's security, strengthen its power, and expand the circle of peace around us," he said in his post. He also wrote that he will pay his respects to Graham during his visit, who he described as a "true friend."
