President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that his Board of Peace has reached a historic agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza. The agreement calls for Israeli forces to withdraw and for a new Palestinian government to be established, working with the Board of Peace to help the Palestinian people.
Details of the agreement
Trump stated: "Today, the Board of Peace reached a HISTORIC agreement for the COMPLETE DISARMAMENT of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza. This is a monumental step toward lasting PEACE and SECURITY." He described the agreement as a critical step toward Gaza being governed by a new Palestinian government, ensuring Israel's security, and implementing the Trump 20-Point Plan in carefully structured phases.
As disarmament is completed, Israeli forces will withdraw, and an International Stabilization Force will work with a new Palestinian police force to secure Gaza for its residents and neighbors. Trump thanked mediators Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye for their efforts, and praised his team for making the breakthrough possible.
Impact and next steps
Reflecting on the progress, Trump noted that one year ago there was a violent war, humanitarian crisis, and hostages held in captivity. He declared that "the threat that emerged from Gaza on October 7 will NOT be allowed to rebuild" and congratulated all on the achievement, which many said could never happen.
