The second season of the Australian historical heist series 'The Artful Dodger' will launch on Disney+ and Hulu on 10 February 2026, with all episodes available to stream from that date.
Based on characters from Charles Dickens' 'Oliver Twist', the show follows Dr Jack Dawkins, also known as the Artful Dodger, as he leads a double life in the penal colony of Port Victory, Australia. Thomas Brodie-Sangster reprises his role as Jack, alongside David Thewlis as Norbert Fagin and Maia Mitchell as Lady Belle Fox.
New cast members include Luke Bracey as Inspector Henry Boxer, Jeremy Sims as Uncle Dickie, and Zac Burgess as Phineas Golden. Returning characters include Susie Porter as Lady Jane Fox, Damien Garvey as Governor Fox, and Tim Minchin as Darius Cracksworth.
The synopsis reveals Jack is facing execution, hunted by Inspector Boxer, and forbidden from seeing Lady Belle. Meanwhile, Belle pursues a medical career, and Fagin involves Jack in a dangerous heist. A killer is also on the loose in Port Victory.
Kylie Watson-Wheeler, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the Walt Disney Company Australia and New Zealand, praised the series as a testament to local and international success, highlighting new costumes and sets that deepen the show's world.
Season 2 was ordered in November 2024, filmed in Sydney, and is co-produced by Disney+ and Sony Pictures Television's Curio Pictures. Directors include Ben Young, Ben C. Lucas, and Gracie Otto.
