Euphoria fans have expressed outrage over a scene in the upcoming third season trailer featuring Sydney Sweeney's character Cassie dressed as a baby. The clip shows Cassie in pigtails, a dummy in her mouth, and a sheer top, with her legs spread on a couch, appearing to film explicit content for OnlyFans.
The scene has been condemned as 'sick' and 'vulgar' on social media, with viewers accusing the show of 'sexualising children' and 'crossing a line'. Many called for a boycott, with one user writing, 'there's a line and Sam Levinson has severely crossed it'.
This is not the first time Sweeney's character has been involved in controversial scenes; previous episodes featured Cassie in a dog costume, which also drew criticism. Sweeney has previously stated she refused to film certain scenes due to the characters being high schoolers.
The show, which debuted in 2019, has faced ongoing criticism for excessive nudity and provocative storylines. Season 3 is set five years after season 2, with Cassie now a bored California housewife-to-be engaged to Nate Jacobs.
