Angel and Dick Strawbridge have shared a throwback photo from their time filming 'Escape to the Chateau', reflecting on their DIY journey at the French property. The couple posted the image on Instagram on Friday, showing them with their children Arthur and Dorothy in the walled garden during the show's seventh series in 2020.
In the caption, they wrote: 'The harvest update from the Chateau this week has taken us on a trip down memory lane…back to Series 7 and the incredible bounty produced in the Walled Garden.' Fans responded warmly, with one commenting: 'Wonderful family memories,' and another adding: 'Miss watching you guys on tv!'
The Strawbridges purchased the Chateau de la Motte Husson in January 2015 and have spent eight years transforming it into their dream home, also hosting events and weddings there. Their partnership with Channel 4 ran from 2016 to 2022, but the broadcaster cut ties in May after an independent investigation into their conduct on the series.
According to reports, concerns were raised by production company Two Rivers Media, and an independent HR professional interviewed producers and crew members. In late May, an audio recording emerged of Angel using offensive language to a crew member. The couple responded on Instagram, stating it was 'a Strawbridge Family decision early last year to conclude Escape To The Chateau' and expressing gratitude to Channel 4 for their support.
