Darrell Sheets, known as 'The Gambler' on the reality show Storage Wars, died by suicide at his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, on April 22, according to an autopsy report obtained by Us Weekly. He was 67.
The Mohave County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the cause of death as suicide. The autopsy report further revealed that Sheets had no drugs in his system at the time of his death, with tests for benzodiazepines, cocaine, fentanyl and other substances all returning negative.
The Lake Havasu City Police Department stated that it is actively investigating allegations of cyberbullying associated with the case. Sheets's cell phone has been submitted for forensic analysis, and authorities are awaiting results. His Storage Wars co-star René Nezhoda claimed that Sheets had faced intense cyberbullying before his death.
Sheets appeared on Storage Wars from its first season in 2010 until 2023. He suffered a heart attack in 2019 and retired to Arizona, where he ran an antique store. He is survived by his son Brandon, who also appeared on the show, and his daughter Tiffany.
