Nicole Kidman and Simon Baker have fuelled speculation about a romantic relationship following their recent red carpet appearance together. The Australian actors, co-stars in the crime drama Scarpetta, were seen holding hands at the film's New York premiere on March 3, before attending the after-party together.
Kidman, 58, personally recommended Baker for the role of FBI profiler Benton Wesley, while she plays forensic pathologist Kay Scarpetta. The pair have known each other for decades, with Kidman serving as godmother to Baker's son, Harry Friday Baker, 22, from his marriage to Rebecca Rigg.
Speaking about their collaboration, Kidman told The Daily Telegraph: 'We have known each other for a huge portion of our lives. I've always wanted to do something substantial with Simon.' She added that she asked him to join the project, describing it as 'kismet' when he agreed.
When asked about their on-screen kissing scenes, Baker quipped: 'I don't kiss and tell.' Kidman emphasised their strong connection, saying: 'Our chemistry just vibrates.' The pair previously lived together and have a long history, with Kidman noting: 'We've kissed on the cheek before. We've hugged a lot. We've lived in the same house.'
The romance rumours come after Kidman's divorce from Keith Urban, which was finalised last year. She filed for divorce in September 2025, citing irreconcilable differences, after nearly two decades of marriage. In a recent interview with Variety, Kidman said she is 'moving toward what's good' and focusing on keeping her family stable.
