ITV's new spy drama Secret Service, starring Gemma Arterton as MI6 officer Kate Henderson, premieres tonight. The series, adapted from Tom Bradby's novel, follows an investigation into a high-ranking UK politician suspected of being a Russian asset.
Filming took place predominantly in London and Malta. Malta's Senglea, Dingli, and Rabat provided dramatic coastal cliffs, historic streets, and catacombs. The production team praised the Maltese locations team for finding a villa near Dingli's cliffs with an infinity pool.
In the UK, the Old Royal Naval College doubled as government interiors, while Harefield House in Uxbridge served as the Prime Minister's office. John Adam Street stood in for the exterior of Number 10 Downing Street. Farnborough International Gate replaced RAF Northolt for airport scenes.
MI6 headquarters interiors were recreated on a custom-built set in a 1960s brutalist building in Hayes, using green screens to drop in Thames views. The first episode airs on ITV1 at 9pm on Monday, April 27, and the series is available on ITVX.
