Robbie Williams Takes Swipe at Noel Gallagher with Billboard Near His Childhood Home

Robbie Williams has reignited his long-running feud with Noel Gallagher by placing a promotional billboard on the Manchester street where the Oasis guitarist grew up. The poster, located on Whitworth Street West, promotes Williams' album with a quote from a Daily Telegraph review that reads: '...sing-along choruses to make Noel Gallagher question whether he ever needs to bother writing another song.'

The billboard also features star ratings from other publications, including The Sun, Classic Pop, and Sunday Express. Williams shared images of the poster on Instagram with the caption: 'LONG 90'S IN MANCHESTER…TONIGHT!' The stunt comes ahead of his performance at Aviva Studios in Manchester as part of Brits Week.

The rivalry between Williams and the Gallagher brothers dates back to the 1990s. Initially friends, the relationship soured after Noel called Williams a 'fat dancer from Take That' at the 2000 Brit Awards. Williams responded by challenging Liam to a £100,000 fight on stage. Since then, the pair have traded insults, with Williams selling out three nights at Knebworth Park after Oasis sold out two in 1996.

In 2022, Williams described Oasis as 'gigantic bullies' in an interview, though he admitted he remains a fan of their music. The latest billboard appears to be a continuation of their long-standing feud, which has seen both parties make public jabs over the years.
