Richard Osman, the 52-year-old presenter and author best known for the quiz show Pointless, has experienced a tumultuous love life. He divorced his first wife in 2007 after a marriage that began in the late 1990s, describing the split as 'awful'. The couple had two children, Ruby and Sonny, and Osman has said he made sure to see them constantly after the divorce, unlike his own father who left when he was ten.
Following his divorce, Osman dated jazz singer Sumudu Jayatilaka in 2018, but the relationship was short-lived. He later said he enjoyed being single, but noted it was 'probably easier being a single man in your 40s than a single woman'. However, during the first lockdown, his relationship with Doctor Who star Ingrid Oliver blossomed. The pair had been friends before becoming a couple, and Osman told friends that 'she is the one'.
Osman and Oliver, 46, got married in December 2022 after two years together. The ceremony took place at Goodwood House in West Sussex, near where Osman grew up. Sharing the news on Twitter, Osman wrote: 'The most magical, joyful day on Saturday with my beautiful wife @ingridoliver100. Surrounded by wonderful friends and family, a day full of love and laughter. We're so, so happy.'
Oliver, known for her role as Petronella Osgood in Doctor Who, had previously appeared on Osman's show Richard Osman's House of Games. She is the daughter of Conservative MP Jo Gideon. Osman has spoken openly about his happiness, saying in an interview: 'I'm happy with myself, I've got these beautiful kids, I've met the woman who I’m going to be with for the rest of my life.'
