Harry Redknapp's practical joke on the set of I'm A Celebrity... South Africa almost caused two of his co-stars to quit the show early. The former football manager pranked Sinitta and Gemma Collins by inventing a terrifying trial, leading them to declare the infamous phrase, 'I'm a celebrity get me out of here'.
The ITV reality series, which returns on Monday 6 April, features an all-star cast including Sir Mo Farah, Scarlett Moffatt, and Ashley Roberts. The show was pre-recorded last year, and the prank occurred after a day of gruelling trials.
Sinitta recalled the incident at a press roundtable, explaining that the campmates were physically exhausted after a long day. Redknapp entered and announced a fake trial called 'House Of Hell' or 'Prison Of Hell', involving rats and being tied up. Before he could finish, Gemma Collins said she wanted to leave, and Sinitta admitted she also raised her hand to quit.
The prank nearly derailed the series, but both women ultimately stayed. The show will air weeknights at 9pm on ITV1, with a live grand final where the public votes for the 'ultimate legend 2026'.
