Rebecca Gayheart has paid tribute to her daughter Georgia as she graduated from middle school, marking a milestone following the death of her father, actor Eric Dane. The 14-year-old's graduation was celebrated by her mother in a heartfelt social media post on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
Sharing a photo from the ceremony, Gayheart praised Georgia for her resilience during what she described as an 'incredibly difficult year.' She wrote: 'Congratulations Georgia!!! You have graduated middle school and survived an incredibly difficult year. I am so beyond proud of you – your tenacity, grit and grace has been on full display.'
The actress also revealed that Georgia had earned an MVP trophy for beach volleyball, adding: 'Not pictured is your MVP trophy for beach volleyball. Bravo, congratulations and I love you so much.' Georgia is the younger of two daughters Gayheart shared with Dane; the couple also have a 16-year-old daughter, Billie.
The graduation comes months after Dane's death at age 53 from respiratory failure, with ALS listed as an underlying cause. The Grey's Anatomy star had publicly revealed his ALS diagnosis in April 2025. Prior to his passing, Dane recorded a Netflix documentary, Famous Last Words, released posthumously on February 20, in which he spoke of his enduring love for Gayheart.
