Jared Leto has reignited the internet meme that saw him hugging various monuments and celebrities, posting yet another photograph of himself embracing a tree on Instagram. The 30 Seconds To Mars frontman shared the image on Monday, captioning it: 'Uh oh...here we go again! #JaredHugginLeto'.
The original meme began in July when Leto posted a picture of himself hugging a tree while on tour in Europe. Within hours, Twitter users created Photoshopped variations featuring the actor clinging to figures such as Angelina Jolie and US President Barack Obama, using the hashtag #JaredHugginLeto.
Leto has embraced the meme, reposting some of the images with appreciative captions. He wrote of the Obama image: 'Haaaaaa! Even President @barackobama gets some love from #JaredHugginLeto. You guys are hilarious.' The meme also played on a previous satire involving Angelina Jolie's leg pose at the 72nd Oscars.
In the latest snap, Leto wears his long hair down, dark sunglasses, and comfortable clothing including pyjama bottoms and a hat. The 42-year-old appears to be enjoying the ongoing joke, unlike Jolie, who was reportedly mortified by similar memes.
