Mick Jagger, the 81-year-old Rolling Stones frontman, made a rare public appearance with his girlfriend, Melanie Hamrick, 37, at the Chanel 16th Annual Pre-Oscar Awards dinner. The couple attended the event alongside celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Demi Moore.
Jagger opted for a casual look in a mauve satin bomber jacket with white trim, while Hamrick wore a black midi-dress with a silver Chanel belt and clear plastic high heels. Hamrick later shared a photo on Instagram, captioning it: 'Chanel pre-Oscar’s dinner 🌟 First time wearing my natural curly hair to an event 🙌🏼 🥳'. The couple was also spotted at the Vanity Fair party, where Hamrick wore a black dress with a thigh split and Jagger changed into a black suit.
Jagger and Hamrick met in 2014 while he was on tour in Japan. Hamrick, a professional ballet dancer, was touring with the American Ballet Theatre when she and other dancers went backstage at a Rolling Stones show. Their relationship became romantic, and in July 2016 they announced they were expecting their first child. Their son, Devereaux Octavian Basil, was born in December 2016.
In a 2016 interview with You Magazine, Hamrick recalled her initial shock at the pregnancy, saying: 'I just remember feeling shock at first. I had never thought about [having children].' She also praised Jagger's support, stating: 'I never feel a lack of support, regardless of our not being based in the same city. I feel as though I have more support from him than some of my married friends get from their husbands.'
The appearance comes amid news that The Rolling Stones will not tour in summer 2025, as previously rumoured. The band—Jagger, Keith Richards, 81, and Ronnie Wood, 77—are hopeful for shows in 2026 after dates could not be arranged for this year in the UK and Europe. The band released their 24th album, Hackney Diamonds, in 2023 and subsequently toured the US.
