The Masked Singer fans are convinced they have identified Conkers, with many believing the character is Gavin and Stacey star Mathew Horne. The seventh series of the ITV show is nearing its end, with only two episodes remaining before the final unmasking.
Seven celebrities have already been revealed, including Alex Jones, Professor Green, John Lydon, Marcella Detroit, Kate Nash, Anton Du Beke, and Harry Hill. Now just five characters remain: Can of Worms, Conkers, Moth, Sloth, and Toastie.
Viewers have pointed to clues such as Conkers' voice and references to "knights" and "playing many parts" as evidence that Mathew Horne is behind the mask. One fan wrote on Facebook: "How can no one else hear that it's clearly Mathew Horne from Gavin and Stacey." Others have suggested Take That's Mark Owen or Ghosts actor Jim Howick.
Conkers first performed on January 4, singing Nice to Meet You by Myles Smith, and has since performed Jump Around by House of Pain, I'm A Believer by Smash Mouth, and History by One Direction. The character's clue packages have included phrases like "I've thrown down the gauntlet" and "I'm a knight of passion."
The semi-final airs this Saturday, February 7, with the final to follow. The identity of Conkers will be revealed in one of the upcoming episodes.
