Married At First Sight Australia's Scott McCristal has finally spoken out about his relationship with Gia Fleur, revealing the emotional toll of their short-lived marriage. The couple, paired by experts in the 2026 experiment, appeared to be one of the strongest matches this season, but their romance unravelled after Gia discovered lingerie photos of an ex-girlfriend on Scott's phone.
Appearing on the after-show MAFS: After The Dinner Party, a tearful Scott said: 'When I go in I give them my world. I would sit where she was getting her makeup done and sit there until she was finished. I would take her away every weekend. I never let her pay for a cent. I would nurture her. And she would just go off at me for nothing and I would say okay. I just copped so much s***. And I just tried so hard to make it work because I can see the good in everyone.'
Gia confirmed the split and explained her decision to end the marriage. Speaking to Nine Australia, she said: 'People are saying "What's the problem? They're just photos". But they were actually lingerie photos. I felt it was disrespectful to keep those kinds of photos of your ex when you're in a relationship.' She added that Scott's refusal to delete them made her question whether he still had feelings for his ex.
The couple's troubles were further highlighted during friends and family week, when Scott laughed at insensitive questions from his pals directed at Gia. Despite the public split, Gia has since moved on and is reportedly 'so in love' with another Australian TV star.
