Fleur East has reportedly been axed from the Strictly Come Dancing spin-off It Takes Two, according to sources. The singer, who found fame on The X Factor, hosted the show alongside former Strictly professional Janette Manrara, who has also been let go.
The shake-up comes amid a major revamp of the show following several scandals and the departure of main hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. Bosses have signed Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe, and Strictly pro Johannes Radebe to front the programme when it returns later this year.
Fleur, 38, had auditioned for a main presenting role but was not selected. Speaking on her Hits Radio Breakfast Show last month, she admitted: 'I did say initially, after Tess and Claudia announced they were leaving Strictly... I'm kind of bothered. I think it's ok to admit that being faced with the opportunity of such an incredible job... it's been an incredible job to be a part of.'
A source told The Sun: 'Fleur has kept the news on the lowdown for as long as she could, only telling her close friends. She's still in denial about it and was really upset by the decision. But it wasn't personal.'
Fleur joined It Takes Two in 2023, a year after she participated as a contestant on the main show, finishing in second place with professional dancer Vito Coppola. A BBC spokesperson said plans for Strictly 'will be announced in due course.'
