Lorraine Kelly was sent home from her ITV show on Wednesday morning after falling ill, with Ranvir Singh stepping in as a last-minute replacement. The presenter, who was due to host her eponymous programme, was forced to take a break after being struck down by a 'hideous bug'.
Good Morning Britain hosts Kate Garraway and Ed Balls announced the news at the start of the show, noting it was the first time in a long while, possibly ever, that Lorraine had missed a show due to illness. Lorraine later took to Twitter to confirm she was unwell, expressing disappointment at missing her scheduled interview with singer Adam Lambert.
Ranvir Singh revealed she received a call from the editor at 7.18am and managed to catch a train at 7.30am to rush into work. Kate Garraway joked it was a 'good job' Ranvir got out of bed, or there would have been no show. Lorraine's absence comes just weeks after she nearly missed her show due to an alarm clock blunder in December.
