Lizzo Marks Two Months Alcohol Free Amid Health Journey

Lizzo has celebrated two months of sobriety from alcohol as part of her ongoing health journey, sharing a candid update with fans. The 37-year-old singer, whose real name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson, posted a video on Instagram showing her new slimmed-down figure in black underwear from her brand YITTY.

In the clip, Lizzo flaunted her reduced waistline in a scoop-neck bra and high-rise cheeky bottoms, promoting the Stretchy Fit collection. She captioned the post: 'Body yitTEA ☕️ Have you tried Stretchy Fit? Go to @yitty right now! You won't regret it.'

Earlier this year, Lizzo admitted she had tried Ozempic and other GLP-1 drugs to aid weight loss, but credited her dramatic transformation to hard work and discipline. Speaking on the Just Trish podcast, she said: 'I tried everything. Ozempic works because you eat less food, yeah? So if you eat right, it makes you feel full.' She added that she stopped taking the drug early on, but did not view it as 'cheating' for others.

The singer attributed her weight loss to a change in diet, moving away from a vegan lifestyle that had her consuming up to 5,000 calories a day. She now eats whole foods including beef, chicken, and fish, which she says keep her fuller for longer. Lizzo also revealed in January that she had reduced her body mass by 10.5 and lost 16 per cent of her body fat.
