Strictly Star Layton Williams Withdraws from Stage Show After 'Tough Decision'

Layton Williams, known for his stint on Strictly Come Dancing, has withdrawn from the stage production Kiss of the Spider Woman. The 31-year-old actor was set to play the role of Molina but has been replaced by Fabian Soto Pacheco.

Williams announced his departure on Instagram Stories, sharing a statement that described the decision as 'incredibly tough'. He explained that an opportunity arose which he 'simply couldn't turn down', and expressed confidence that the show would be 'absolutely incredible'.

He apologised to fans who had booked tickets to see him personally, adding that even his grandparents had booked and were still excited to see the show. Williams hinted that he would share the full story later, saying 'once I spill my tea, I hope you'll understand'.

Co-producers Curve and Bristol Old Vic expressed regret at his departure but wished him continued success. The show is scheduled to run in Leicester from April, before moving to Bristol and Southampton.

Williams is currently performing as a special guest on the Strictly Come Dancing Tour, reuniting with his former dance partner Nikita Kuzmin. He first competed on the show in 2023, reaching the final before being narrowly beaten by Ellie Leach.
