Kerry Katona Expresses Sadness Over Atomic Kitten Reunion Exclusion
Kerry Katona Sad About Atomic Kitten Reunion Exclusion

Kerry Katona has openly expressed feeling "very sad" about her exclusion from Atomic Kitten reunions, admitting she lacks anyone to reminisce with about her pop heyday. The former pop star, now 45, rose to fame in the late 1990s as part of the original girlband lineup with Liz McClarnon and Natasha Hamilton, but departed just before the release of their signature hit Whole Again.

Jenny Frost replaced Kerry in the group, which remained active until 2003. Following her initial stint, Kerry became a television favourite, winning I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! and famously fronting adverts for Iceland. She only briefly re-joined Atomic Kitten in 2013 for ITV2's The Big Reunion.

Reunions Without Kerry

Atomic Kitten have reunited on several occasions without Kerry, most notably for the Euros in 2020. The star noted that seeing fellow 1990s band S Club working on a new project made her feel upset about having no one to share memories with, though she stated she would willingly return if invited.

In her new! magazine column, Kerry wrote: "I was so excited when I saw S Club are working on a reunion! I think we’re so desperate for that kind of nostalgia now. After watching Girlbands Forever, I started to realise it. It brought so much back for me."

Reflections on Pop Culture

She added: "We’re missing a lot now - there’s no real pop styles anymore. I’m so glad to have been a part of that generation because now, the world really concerns me. Kids have just got iPads now. Tell them to go out and play, and they think you’re weird! I’d go back to Atomic Kitten in a heartbeat if they asked me!"

Kerry also mentioned hearing rumours about the band getting back together but holds no grudges, acknowledging she wouldn't be where she is today without them. She concluded: "It’s just very sad that I have nobody to reminisce with about those days."

Kerry Katona's Current Career and Views

The former Celebs Go Dating star, now in a relationship with Paolo Margaglione after meeting him on the E4 show, has achieved remarkable success with her OnlyFans platform, reportedly earning over £1 million from selling racy pictures. She continues to perform gigs regularly and recently went on tour with Katie Price.

Addressing Double Standards

Kerry also commented on Hollywood star Sydney Sweeney facing backlash for a lingerie ad campaign, questioning why women can't pursue multiple avenues without criticism. She said: "Sydney Sweeney’s recent ad campaign for her lingerie brand certainly caught our attention, why wouldn’t it? But some were accusing her of ‘selling sex’ like Kim Kardashian, while trying to be taken seriously as an actress. Why the hell can’t she do both? I do OnlyFans and get criticised. Different people, standards, boxes - you end up pigeonholed. Why can’t we have it all? It’s just jealousy, I think."

Kerry Katona's reflections highlight her enduring connection to her Atomic Kitten past and her ongoing career in entertainment, blending nostalgia with modern challenges in the industry.
