Nicole Kidman has been keeping a busy schedule as a 'healthy coping mechanism' following her separation from husband Keith Urban after nearly two decades of marriage. The couple's split was revealed earlier this month, with the singer reportedly moving out of their Nashville home.
Insiders close to the pair say Nicole and Keith were not living together for most of the summer, despite celebrating their 19th wedding anniversary in late June. While Nicole was said to be fighting for the marriage, Keith was reportedly 'done' and friends felt their divorce was 'inevitable'. Rumours suggest he is already dating someone new.
Despite the split, Nicole has remained active with a recent Vogue interview, appearances at Paris Fashion Week alongside her daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith, 14, and upcoming projects including the series Scarpetta and Margo's Got Money Troubles, as well as a sequel to Practical Magic.
Relationship expert Susie Kim commented on Nicole's schedule, saying: 'I think it really helps to keep busy and reconnect with or keep engaged with all of the things that you love.' Kim added that during a breakup, people often invest less time in things they love or lose contact with friends.
In a recent interview, Nicole acknowledged her risk-taking nature and said she will learn from the experience. 'Taking a risk is what I've always done. You get back up and you try again and you learn,' she told Vogue. She also stressed the importance of 'ride-or-die friendships' but avoided directly discussing her marriage breakdown.
A source previously told People that Nicole had been stressed for months, dreading the public response to the separation. However, the source noted she is 'surprisingly level-headed and calm' and now focused on what lies ahead and her daughters.
