Jonathan Majors and another actor unintentionally fell through a window on the set of his upcoming Daily Wire film, with footage of the incident emerging as some crew members walked out over safety concerns. The 36-year-old actor, convicted last year of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, was filming for the right-wing media company's untitled action movie.
In the clip obtained by Deadline, Majors and actor JC Kilcoyne jump backwards into an unsupported window, which gives way. The pair fell roughly six feet to the ground, with Kilcoyne requiring stitches in his hands. A voice resembling Majors can be heard asking if the production was rolling and suggesting they keep the footage, saying: 'Did we shoot it? Use it.'
The incident is reported to be part of the reason the union International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) called a strike against the production at the end of last month, citing safety concerns and other labour issues. The union posted on social media that producers were actively seeking replacement crew and advised members not to cross the picket line.
Producer Dallas Sonnier, whose Bonfire Legend is co-producing with The Daily Wire, hit back in a statement to Variety, saying: 'The actors’ fall was shorter than the failed movie careers of the now-union reps.' The film continues shooting despite the walkout.
Majors was convicted in 2023 of two counts of misdemeanor assault and harassment against his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. He avoided jail but was sentenced to a domestic abuse prevention programme. His role as Kang the Conqueror was dropped by Marvel, and the planned Avengers: The Kang Dynasty was replaced by Avengers: Doomsday.
