Joey Essex has reportedly lined up a club tour worth £250,000, despite facing criticism for his appearance on Love Island. The 34-year-old reality star, known for The Only Way is Essex, was dumped from the villa alongside Jessy Potts in the latest episode.
According to a source, his team has arranged a series of £6,000-an-hour UK dates where fans can take selfies and party with him. 'Well, Joey might not have made the final, but he’ll be having the last laugh!' the source told The Sun. 'His team worked overtime while he was in the villa to book him for as many appearances as possible.'
The source added that Love Island introduced him to a new audience, leading to venues snapping him up. 'It’s gruelling to be out every night but the financial reward will be huge,' they said.
This comes after reports last month that Joey could face criminal prosecution as his company failed to file accounts for four years. Despite this, his net worth is estimated at £10 million, amassed from Towie, club appearances, hair products, perfume, clothing, a short-lived music career, and an autobiography.
Joey has also collaborated with brands including McDonald’s, Jaffa Cakes, and Volvic, and appeared on numerous reality shows such as I'm A Celebrity, Dancing on Ice, and Celebrity SAS.
