Jessie Buckley Wins Bafta Lead Actress, Celebrates in London

Jessie Buckley has been awarded the Bafta for Best Leading Actress at the 79th annual Bafta Film Awards, held at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Sunday 22nd February. The Irish actress won for her role in the film 'Sinners', which is also nominated for Best Film.

Buckley was among a star-studded list of nominees, including Timothée Chalamet and Michael B. Jordan. The ceremony, broadcast on BBC at 7pm, featured surprise performances from Huntr/X, the stars of 'K-Pop Demon Hunters', and hosts including Aimee Lou Wood, Cillian Murphy, and Paddington Bear.

The red carpet saw arrivals from Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Emma Stone, and Kate Hudson, as well as the Prince and Princess of Wales. Buckley's win marks a highlight of the evening, which also saw 'Sinners' competing for Best Film against 'Marty Supreme' and 'Hamnet'.
