House of Guinness Star Joins Netflix True Crime Series The Altruists

Julia Garner, known for her roles in Ozark and Inventing Anna, is set to star alongside Anthony Boyle in Netflix's upcoming limited series The Altruists. Boyle, who recently portrayed Arthur Guinness in Netflix's House of Guinness, will play Sam Bankman-Fried, while Garner takes on the role of Caroline Ellison.

The eight-part drama tells the true story of Bankman-Fried and Ellison, who orchestrated a multibillion-dollar fraud, stealing from customers to cover debts and bad investments. Described as “hyper-smart, ambitious young idealists,” the pair attempted to “remake the financial system in the blink of an eye - before they were accused of stealing $8 billion.”

Joining the cast in recurring roles are Hudson Williams, known for Heated Rivalry, and Jennifer Grey, star of Dirty Dancing. The series is co-created by Graham Moore, who called the story his “daily obsession for nearly three years.”
