David and Victoria Beckham have led birthday tributes to their son Cruz, who turned 21 on Tuesday. The former England footballer, 50, posted a childhood video on social media, describing his son as 'kind, considerate and fiercely loyal'. Victoria, 51, shared a video saying she could not be prouder of the 'sweet, kind, talented young man' he has become.
Cruz, a musician set to tour with his band The Breakers, recently suffered a gruesome accident in which he hacked off the end of his finger, according to his mother. The birthday celebrations come amid a continuing rift with his older brother Brooklyn, 26, who did not acknowledge the milestone on social media and was seen at a food festival in Miami.
Brooklyn, who does not follow Cruz on Instagram, shocked the family last month by posting a six-page statement saying he did not wish to reconcile with his parents. He has also reportedly blocked celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, a longtime family friend and godfather to Harper Beckham, after Ramsay suggested Brooklyn should not 'forget where he came from'.
The rift has extended to the next generation: Brooklyn has unfollowed Ramsay's eldest daughter Holly, 26, weeks after she married Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty. Her twin brother Jack, a Royal Marine, has also reportedly been removed from Brooklyn's following list. The Beckhams and Ramsays have been close since the early 2000s, when both families lived in the United States.
