Harry Styles has finally responded to accusations of queerbaiting during his opening monologue as host of Saturday Night Live. The singer, who last hosted in 2019, reflected on criticism over his fashion choices, saying: 'Some people accused me of it but did it ever occur to you that maybe you don’t know everything about me, dad?'
Styles used the moment to promote his new album Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally., joking that he asked ChatGPT for 'the most Italian phrase to ever exist' and delivered the title with an exaggerated accent. He then quipped about kissing, leading to advances from cast members Chloe Fineman and Sarah Squirm, which he declined.
When cast member Ben Marshall approached, Styles said, 'Or if you have a tight little bum!' and kissed him, adding: 'Now that’s queerbaiting!' The Grammy winner is pulling double duty as host and musical guest for the second time, performing tracks from his latest album, released last week.
