Harry Redknapp has described the live final of I'm A Celebrity South Africa as a 'nightmare', comparing the explosive scenes to The Jeremy Kyle Show. The 79-year-old former footballer, who won the original series in 2018, returned for the all-stars edition that aired over recent weeks.
The final descended into chaos when boxer David Haye was accused of bullying Adam Thomas, with arguments unfolding live on air. Stars including Gemma Collins and Sinitta stormed off the stage as the British public voted Adam the winner.
Speaking on TalkSport, Redknapp said: 'I thought I'd gone to the wrong show! I thought it was The Jeremy Kyle Show. I've never seen so much aggravation... it was a nightmare.' He insisted Haye's behaviour was 'just banter', adding: 'This wasn't strong banter compared to what you've had in dressing rooms over the years.'
Adam Thomas later revealed he sought therapy after the experience, saying: 'It's changed me... I'm in therapy now because it's f***** with me mentally.' The Waterloo Road star also clashed with Jimmy Bullard, who accused him of being 'abusive, aggressive and intimidating' during a trial, though Ant and Dec defended Adam on air.
