Halle Berry's £200k Engagement Ring Steals Show at Premiere

Halle Berry made her first red carpet appearance since announcing her engagement to partner Van Hint, debuting a vintage sapphire and diamond ring estimated to be worth six figures at the Crime 101 premiere in Los Angeles on February 10.

The actress wore a sleek Gucci ensemble from the spring/summer 2026 collection, featuring a black silk blouse with a plunging neckline, tailored trousers, and a cropped blazer. She accessorised with Cartier jewellery and styled her hair in an elegant updo.

Jewellery expert Nilesh Rakholia described the ring as an 'architectural, grid-set band' with a 1.5- to 2-carat Old European Cut diamond set against dark accent stones, likely sapphires or onyx, in 18k yellow gold. The design reflects a mid-century aesthetic, with over 20 jewels set in a precise grid, making it a 'one-of-a-kind heirloom'.

Rakholia estimated the ring's value in the six-figure bracket due to the rarity of the antique-cut centre stone and the high-quality craftsmanship. 'This is an intentional break from typical Hollywood glamour,' they said, noting the ring's structural statement of self-assurance.

Berry spoke to People about her engagement, saying, 'You just kind of know when it's right, 'cause you know when it's wrong.' She confirmed on The Tonight Show that she had accepted Van's proposal, though no date has been set. The couple went public in September 2020 and made their red carpet debut at the 2021 Oscars.
