Gemma Collins Celebrates Major Cheltenham Festival Win with Helicopter Arrival
Reality television star Gemma Collins marked a triumphant day at the prestigious Cheltenham Festival by securing a substantial £5,000 jackpot from a £500 wager. The former TOWIE personality, aged 45, celebrated her windfall with champagne, enthusiastically punching the air in delight as she cheered on the riders during the event's third day.
Grand Entrance Amid Stormy Weather
Collins made a spectacular arrival at the iconic horse racing festival, touching down via helicopter ahead of her anticipated appearance on I'm A Celebrity All Stars. She braved challenging British weather conditions, with rain and winds reaching up to 50 miles per hour, alongside thousands of other attendees.
Upon landing, she quickly proceeded to the Paddy Power suite, where she was joined by notable figures including actor Danny Dyer and former footballer Peter Crouch. Collins ensured she was dressed appropriately for the occasion, donning a pink and blue coat with a brown fur trim and accessorizing with a silk scarf tied around her head.
Overcoming Past Fears
The helicopter ride held particular significance for Collins, as it represented a personal milestone. Twelve years prior, she had broken down in tears during a helicopter segment on I'm A Celebrity, pleading to exit the aircraft due to fear and nausea.
Reflecting on her changed perspective, Collins explained earlier in the month, "Do you know what? I have reached an age where it's like, fight the fear and do it anyway." She elaborated, "Diamonds are literally made from pressure. And unless you put yourself under that pressure, you don't know what you can become. So, for me, being put under such pressure, such strain, such smells, such circumstances, such trials, I came out a diamond."
Excitement and Future Ventures
Prior to her successful day at the races, Collins shared her enthusiasm, stating, "Good morning everyone I am on my way to Cheltenham via helicopter, of course, with Paddy Power. I'm so excited I can't tell you." She was accompanied by her stylist, manager, and bodyguard, confidently posing for cameras upon arrival.
This experience may serve as preparation for her upcoming stint on I'm A Celebrity All Stars, where she will join a star-studded cast including actor Adam Thomas, pop sensation Sinitta, comedian Seann Walsh, and Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts. The programme will also feature soap star Bev Callard, Olympian Mo Farah, boxer David Haye, actor Craig Charles, footballer Jimmy Bullard, and Harry Redknapp, hosted by the duo Ant and Dec.
