Gemma Collins broke down in tears during a Bushtucker Trial on I'm A Celebrity... South Africa, accusing ITV bosses of trying to kill her. The former TOWIE star, 45, was selected for a surprise challenge late at night alongside Jimmy Bullard for Team Rhinos, competing against Team Lions' Harry Redknapp and Scarlett Moffatt.
After being thrown into a crocodile-infested train carriage, Collins was hit in the face with an explosive burst of slime and bugs. Handing the first task to Scarlett Moffatt, she said: 'Forget it, you've won… that just went straight in my face.'
Speaking in the Bush Telegraph afterwards, she broke down in tears, saying: 'I feel like you're trying to kill me. You're going to kill me. It's, like, not even funny. I feel like you're definitely trying to kill me.'
Viewers on social media sympathised with Collins, who has struggled to adapt to jungle life. One fan, Paul, wrote on X: 'Gemma Collins is the main reason to watch this show. She has made it for viewers!' Another, Lyn, added: 'Gemma Collins is doing so well after leaving the first time, go on girl, smashing it.' Kevin praised fellow campmate Adam Thomas for supporting Collins, calling him 'an absolutely smashing bloke'.
This incident follows earlier defence of Collins by fans after campmate Sinitta criticised her casting as Mama Morton in the West End show Chicago, a role Collins never took up. Collins told Sinitta: 'Not a joke, Sinitta. I auditioned for it and got it fair and square.' Outside the series, Collins revealed she lost 8kg after filming ended in September 2025, describing the experience as 'the best digital detox and spiritual healing'.
