Israeli forces killed at least 11 Palestinians on Wednesday, including three journalists and two 13-year-old boys, in violence that undermines a three-month-old ceasefire, according to Gaza hospitals.
The journalists were killed in an Israeli airstrike while travelling in a car to film a newly established displacement camp in the Netzarim area of central Gaza. The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate said they were carrying out a humanitarian mission to document civilian suffering. The deceased were named as Mohammed Salah Qashta, Abdul Raouf Shaat and Anas Ghneim.
In separate incidents, two 13-year-old boys were killed. One boy, his father and a 22-year-old man were hit by Israeli drones near the Bureij refugee camp. Another boy, Moatsem al-Sharafy, was shot dead while collecting firewood in Bani Suheila. His mother said he had gone out hungry to gather wood for cooking.
The Israeli military said it struck the journalists after identifying suspects operating a drone affiliated with Hamas, posing a threat to troops. It added that details were under examination.
Reporters Without Borders said Israeli forces had killed at least 29 Palestinian journalists in Gaza between December 2024 and December 2025, and nearly 220 since October 2023. Health authorities report at least 466 Palestinians killed since the ceasefire began in October.
