Supermodel Elle Macpherson has revealed that she regrets her guest appearance on the hit TV show Friends. The former host of Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model appeared in five episodes of the sixth season as Janine, Joey Tribbiani's roommate and later girlfriend.
Speaking to Australia's TV Weekly, Macpherson said she would not have accepted the role if she had known how significant the show would become. 'If I'd known how important it was in the U.S., or how long it would be on TV, I may not have chosen to do it,' she explained, adding that the pressure of a show destined to be remembered for decades was a deterrent.
Macpherson also disclosed that she was asked to extend her time on the series but turned down the offer to remain living in London. Despite her reservations, she acknowledged some positive aspects, particularly working with Matt LeBlanc. 'Good working partner,' she said. 'Great kisser.'
Friends concluded in 2004 after ten seasons, but it remains immensely popular in syndication and streaming. Macpherson's character Janine was initially Joey's roommate before their relationship soured, leading to her exit.
